Solidarism

What is Solidarism

Solidarism is a system of non-monetary trade with the objective to save our species from the effects of global climate change. It neither supports or denounces common ownership of resources or the means to production of goods and services.

How can Solidarism save us from global warming?

Money is the main restriction causing inaction to environmental relief actions. The main argument meeting environmental activists is “who is going to pay”. With Solidarism, money as a factor is removed. All that is left is our will and ability to act.

Who is the founder of Solidarism?

Per-Johan Roland Åkerlund (born May 3rd 1975). Born Swedish national. Entrepreneur. Married since 1999. He and his wife have 7 children.

Why do we need to convert to Solidarism?

The monetary system that we live in today is destroying our planet. Our industries compete to provide the cheapest products for us consumers at the expense of the environment. There are technical solutions, but they are not affordable to all in the necessary abundance.
If the right-minded leaders are elected, then we may have a chance for some wealthy nations to be able to decrease carbon emissions enough to reach the agreed levels in the Paris accord. But it will take decades of continuous hard work and with vigilant right-minded leaders.
Solidarism allows us to meet our goals with out the burden of financial obligations.

Is Solidarism the same as communism?

No, Solidarism is not the same as Communism. It is true that Communism in its true form too is a non-monetary system. But in Communism, the people (the state / the government) own all means to production and all resources. Solidarism makes no such claim and instead actively denounces any opinion on the matter.
Solidarism is neither for or against the public ownership of resources or the means to production.

Why shouldn’t we be able to solve the problems with global warming with the monetary system?

Anyone following the international political debate regarding global warming should be able to agree that the main topic is the cost associated with it. I am sure there are plenty of applicable solutions already – such as carbon capture technology, renewable energy sources, recycling technologies etc. The problem is that these technologies are also in competition with the alternatives – such as coal, gas, oil and profitable waste management.
The non-environmental technologies are well established. Production routines in place are cost effective. Do not kid yourselves, they are not providing their solutions without profit margins. But they are willing to cut the profit margins to keep them. For the environmental options to win, they need to become cheaper than the existing solutions.
As government regulations increase on products that do not conform to environmental aspects, the market segment is free to counter – without sentiment. Tax relief on environmental production will not automatically result in lower prices. Pricing is still based on consumer based economic models forecasting what the consumer is ready to pay. Therefor – tax cuts will mostly only result in increased profit margins.
It is also very important to understand that the national budget also derives from taxes on consumption on non-environmental production too. Decreasing these sales decreases national revenue and decreases the ability for state support for alternatives.
With free markets – who can stop the process that is still going strong? Therefore, global warming is still increasing. It is not because we do not have enough technological solutions, it is because they are not cheap enough. The only way forward is to eliminate the competition for money.

Why do you need to be sponsored with money? Isn’t Solidarism about working for free?

Our society has not yet adopted Solidarism. As such, we are bound by the rules of the monetary system. Our aim is to break away from the bonds of the monetary system. But to do that, ironically, we need money.
We need to buy marketing material, add-words and digital hardware. We also need premises to work from, and other office stuff etc... Most of all we need people to help. Getting this done will take a momentous effort, lots of time and energy. We need to do this for a better future. But to get there, we need to help the people helping all of us – and they will need to be backed up with a salary. For these reasons we need sponsoring - in the form of donations.

How can I help?

First, sign up and become a member. It’s free to be a member. Also, fill in the questionnaire and answer truthfully.
We always need more people to help. The main thing we need help with is to spread this idea. Spread the word about Solidarism to everyone you know. Talk about it in your social networks. “Like us” on all platforms, press subscribe buttons, link to our website and our social media outlets. The more people talking about this the better. We also want as much feedback as possible.
